Partnership with Volkshilfe Solidarität
Kherson region has become one of the most affected areas of Ukraine as a result of the full-scale invasion in 2022. After several months of occupation, part of the territory was liberated; however, the consequences of the war are still deeply felt by local communities.
The agricultural sector has suffered the greatest losses. Farms were left without resources and income, and villagers — without opportunities to resume their traditional activities. Many settlements lack seeds, fertilizers, seedlings, and essential equipment.
To support people in this difficult time, our Foundation is implementing a project in partnership with Volkshilfe Solidarität, with the support of Nachbar in Not and the Austrian Development Agency. The aim of the initiative is to restore agricultural production, strengthen food security, and create sustainable sources of income for community residents.
Within the framework of the project, we provide farmers and households with seeds, fruit tree seedlings, agricultural tools, as well as chickens and feed. In addition, joint greenhouses are being established, where 52 internally displaced persons can grow vegetables both for their own consumption and for sale.
Thanks to this initiative, 2,830 people have already received assistance, including 602 internally displaced persons. This not only helps meet basic needs but also gradually restores economic activity in the region.
